As part of our quest to find sustainable, eco-friendly brunch spots in Singapore, we were told by a friend to head down to The Social Space.
Located on Kreta Ayer Road, is this cafe and mini retail store, serving and selling a range of responsibly sourced brunch foods (breakfast at any time of day, is a yes from us) and everyday guilt-free household items such as cushions, jewellery, storage boxes and useful knick-knacks, plus sell your essentials when embarking on this low-waste lifestyle:
metal straw CHECK
tote bag CHECK
reusable coffee cups CHECK
How gorgeous?! We had to restrain ourselves from too many purchases, but keep an eye out for an upcoming blog where we'll share what we came out with!
They describe themselves as a socially-conscious multi-concept lifestyle store, where everything from the products they sell, the food they serve, and the people they employ, supports and promotes high-quality, fair-trade, eco and socially conscious products and services.
Food wise (which lets face it, is crucial): I went for the Roasted Mushroom and Creme Fraiche Open Faced Toast and Lizzy opted for the Tropicana Smoothie Bowl. Each were glorious to both eat and look at.
And if the ear-handled cups are your thing (see above), then you can buy these too! For us, the ears put us a little on edge, however, the idea of serving one of these to your mate who pops round for tea could be rather amusing.

This is an ideal Sunday chill out spot, and you're guaranteed coming away with full tummies and a good conscience.
